A few months ago I mentioned that Kevin Smith was working on a pilot episode of a reality TV show called Secret Stash. The show followed the freaks and geeks that work and visit his comic book shop in Jersey. Well, for reasons I assume we can blame on The Big Bang Theory, AMC picked up the pilot and will start airing episodes in February. The show will be on before or after (the facts are cloudy) The Walking Dead, which itself will be broken up into two mini seasons. One starting in October 2011 and the other in February 2012.
Executive producer Charlie Corwin said, “Kevin and I developed this series to create a story for fanboys by fanboyism and we are determined to reveal to audiences the insular yet colorful fanboy world.”
Sure I'll watch Secret Stash but I still think it's a terrible idea. I just got back from the comic book shop like 45 minutes ago. You know what I talked with the owner about? How few comics I'm buying these days. That and how I wanted him to take Herc off my pull list but since the book's getting canceled in 2 more issues don't bother. Also there were some a couple guys there talking about Magic the Gathering. Quick get the camera! That shit is TV gold!
I hope AMC still has enough cash to keep up with Kevin Smith's jorts budget.
