Bipartisan Links

Civil War Empire stills. I'm really trying to get excited for this but it's hard. I LOVED Captain America: The Winter Soldier but man did I hate the Civil War comic book.

On a side note I feel like Elizabeth Olsen looks like the version of the Olsen twins everyone was anticipating 10 years go. Like all those people that were eagerly awaiting the Olsen twins to turn 18 so they could get all sexy like were expecting them to look like Elizabeth as opposed to the weird Gollum like fashion creatures they turned into. I guess that's a pretty good place to be. You haven't seen Mary Kate or Ashley in any Marvel movies lately..

Larry Wilmore's Ratings Are 55% Lower Than The Colbert Report. As much as I like Larry Wilmore the Nightly Show is damned near unwatchable. The pace of the opening segment is usually awkward, the skits in the second segment are almost always terrible and the final segment with the round table discussion is a flaming garbage fire every time. Keep the name, keep Larry Wilmore and fire everyone else.

King of the Hill: The Last Bipartisan TV Comedy. I'm not 100% behind this article's thesis. I believe King of the Hill had a very distinct liberal lean (Hank's dog was named after Ladybird Johnson) but as far as bipartisanship goes, it never treated conservatives with disdain. At the most there were a few playful jabs, but in general people with traditional conservative values were respected. It is a stark difference to how the parties (and the media outlets they use) treat each other now.

Liberals like to blame conservatives for the general lack of civility in our current political climate but liberals share plenty of the blame. I was one of like 100 people that used to listen to Liberal Talk "Air America" when it was still around and I remember one of the hosts screaming that George W Bush was a murderer and a psychopath. That went on for MONTHS until the host was fired for calling Hillary a bitch when she refused to cede the Democratic nomination to Obama as quickly as the host would have liked.

Anyway, King of the Hill was awesome. That's my purse, I don't know you!

An Original Film Print of Star Wars Has Been Restored and Released Online. I'm going to download this on Saturday or Sunday. I'll let you know how it works out for me.

Harley Quinn and Suicide Squad In Action With New Set Photos. Hey Harley, How you doin'?

Apple pushing music labels to kill free Spotify streaming ahead of Beats relaunch. Man the guys at Apple are complete dicks, I'd be super surprised if this didn't lead to a lawsuit or at the very least an investigation from the DOJ. It's funny how Apple has this really great public image but they're just as mean and nasty as any other corporation. I guess that's what really clever advertising really buys you.

Infinity Stones Cheat Sheet: What You Need To Know After Avengers 2. It's funny my wife started asking me about the Infinity Gems (I refuse to call them stones) after we saw Age of Ultron and I was pretty clueless about them. How am I supposed to know which on the purple one is? Lets talk about Scarlet Witch and The Vision's demon babies instead.

Joss Whedon Has Deleted His Twitter Account After the Domestic Debut of Age of Ultron. I just don't get people sometimes. It would seem that this all stems from some fan's reaction to how Black Widow was portrayed in Age of Ultron. People were upset and instead of say, going on twitter and telling their followers what they thought of the movie they just started swearing at and threatening Whedon. It's like the opposite of Gamer Gate but just as depressing.

What if Quicksilver Ran Past You

You'd die. Sorry, I mean SPOILERS! You'd die

Blogger Jake Roper along with the Muppets gives a pretty detailed breakdown of exactly why you would die. With the exception of the first minute and a half when they're just farting around, it's a very interesting video. Mini tornado, blood turning to vapor, sonic boom, fatal burns from inhaling the super heated air. It's a veritable potpourri of terrible ways to die.

Next I want him to cover how Hulk's pants always turn purple.

Avengers: Age of Ultron, Trailer part II

In case you weren't one of the millions tuning in to watch Ohio State embarrass Oregon here's the new Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer you missed. Really you didn't miss that much. Sure there's plenty of new footage compared to the first trailer but the themes aren't that different from the first one. Destruction everywhere, The Avengers looking defeated, Ultron rising from the ashes, Hulkbuster armor. Don't get me wrong, I'm still super excited to see the movie it's just that this trailer didn't wow me or anything. I only watched it 6 or 7 times this morning.

Oh hi there Wasp in Iron Man 3

Fire up the speculatron, rumors are flying fast and furious today that Stephanie Szostak will be playing Janet Van Dyne, aka the Wasp, in Iron Man 3. Hit me with your best shot The Mary Sue:
First: Szostak is one of the top-billed cast members, which indicates that her character is going to have a larger role than the absolute lack of information Marvel has released about her so far would indicate.

Second: The mysterious Roger Wardell tweeted that “When Stephanie Szostak’s role is for Iron Man 3 is announced, fans will go crazy.” Wardell has made a habit of tweeting “Insider News” related to the Marvel films, and while he’s not that credible a source ScreenRant notes that he tweeted about the Falcon being in Captain America: The Winter Soldier before it became official. A tipster at ComicBook.com has also claimed that Szostak is playing the Wasp.

Third: Marvel’s given us a lot of information about Iron Man 3 so far, from tons of new armor designs to hints about the final battle. They’ve got to have an ace or two up their sleeve as far as surprising fans is concerned. ‘Tis the Marvel way.

Four: It’s already been rumored that Ant Man, a.k.a Hank Pym, will make an appearance in the Iron Man 3 post-credits sequence. Since Ant Man is the Wasp’s partner and, later, husband, introducing them both in Iron Man 3 would make sense.
Ok, that's far from conclusive evidence but since my post about Joseph Gordon-Levitt being the Joker in The Dark Knight Rises got tons and tons of hits, I'm just going to go ahead and pretend this is fact. It makes sense, Black Widow was introduced in Iron Man 2, why not introduce another Avenger in Iron Man 3? Plus the Wasp is a founding member of the Avengers she kinda got hosed by being excluded from the movie Avengers.

Uncanny Links

Will the X-Men Team up with The Avengers? A producer for the X-Men (movie rights owned by FOX) says he'd be very interested working with Marvel/Disney on a crossover movie that features both the X-Men and the Avengers. Not a huge surprise given that The Avengers made a Billion and a half dollars or that Fox is run by bunch of incompetent boobs.

It's an interesting proposition. In theory it sounds cool, but if you think about it for a second it also sounds like a load of sweet creamery marketing. Uncanny Avengers #1 hits the book shelves today, a book springing from the Events of Avengers vs X-Men that just so happens to have the X-Men and the Avengers teaming up.

I guess what I'm getting at is don't hold your breath nerds. Besides who's even left in the X-Men movie universe? Kelsey Grammar as Beast and Juno as Kitty Pride? Damn it Brett Ratner you ruined everything!

72 Scenes from the Portland Retro Gaming Expo, 2012. This looks AWESOME! Who wants to road trip to Portland with me? I need me some Back to the Future pinball on SNES cartridges on the cheap.

Emily Blunt might play Ms. Marvel in The Avengers 2. So here's a rumor that's probably not true at all. First off, if you put Ms Marvel in the Avengers before The Wasp I will riot. Secondly.. um, I don't think I have a second thing. I'm just really angry about the Wasp getting snubbed again.

The Simpson's 20 greatest Sports Moments. The best part about this list is that they focus on the Simpson episodes that actually mater not the last 10 years worth of dreck. I was yammering away on the web a couple months ago when I realized that there are roughly twice as many "awful" Simpsons episodes as there are "classic" Simpsons (seasons 2-8). I'm not sure I want to be this old.

Marvel Heroes is a thing, I guess

Here's the trailer for Marvel's new MMO Action-RPG (Marvel's words not mine) Marvel Heroes. I don't know, it doesn't really get me that excited. It pretty much looks just like Ultimate Alliance except cheaper. It's "free to play" which also doesn't get me that excited. Remember back in the shareware days when you could just get the first level of a game for free, then you could pay to unlock the rest? That's a thousand times better than these stupid free to play games, which should really be called "pay out the wazoo to play correctly".

On the other hand it's not going to cost anything to try it and I'm pretty sure I saw Deadpool in there. Ok Marvel you win this round.

Avengerous Vocabulary of Doom

Looks about right

Catvengers Assemble!

Marvel should totally do this.. A couple years ago there was a Avengers Pets comic that was actually pretty good. Why not a Catvengers Cartoon or something? I'd pay up to 2.99 to read about the adventures of Iron Mew and Cateye.

Everybody needs a lift

These Avengers cartoons by Ginger Haze (real name?) are awesomely cute. They're awescute. I don't know why but the one with Hawkeye sleeping in Hulks arms really speaks to me. Maybe because I could use a nap.
check out more at How are you I'm fine thanks.

The Avengers, the review

Like any good nerd, I saw The Avengers this weekend (spoiler, I didn't spring for the collectible Hulk 3d glasses). It was really really good, if you like movies you should go see it.

I never said I was good at reviewing things.

The Avengers Video Game is real and it's Spectacular

It's hard to take a company to task for not putting out a movie based video game. Anyone who's ever played a video game knows that those games are always sucky cash grabs meant to trick grandparents everywhere into buying little Timmy a game he doesn't really want. Still, this clip is high-larious. I literally LOLed at the "on disc DLC" line.

Microsoft to offer $99 Xbox 360 bundle with service commitment. Big big rumors this morning that Microsoft is going to offer a $99 Xbox 360/Kinect bundle so long as you sign up for a a 2 year subscription to some Xbox Live gold+ service (no idea what that plus will represent other than 15 dollars a month). In my opinion Microsoft is smart to take a flyer on this idea before they release the Xbox 1080. If they can undercut Sony and Nintendo's pricing by offering subscription discounts when the new round of consoles hit the market, watch out man. They'll be swimming in market share.

21 photos of awesome Black Widow cosplay. Just in time for The Avengers in theaters this Friday, Buzzfeed has gathered a bunch of Black Widow cosplayers. I'm not sure I'd call all of them "awesome" but hey, boobs.

The Gayness of Batman: A Brief History. Current Batman scribe and English gentleman Grant Morrison made a big whoopdy doo on the net last week when he said that "Gayness is built into Batman. ... Batman is very, very gay". Comics Alliance takes a better look at why everyone thinks the caped crusader is light in the loafers.

Kate Upton dancing in a string bikini. You might not have noticed it yesterday but the internet shut down for a few minutes when photographer Terry Richardson posted this video of Kate Upton doing something called the "cat daddy".

Another New Avengers Trailer

I'm not sure what Joss Wheadon was thinking when he case former WWE superstar Chyna as She Hulk. Sure she's built kinda like She Hulk, but I'm pretty sure She Hulk doesn't have a penis. I mean I've never checked or anything, but if she did wouldn't she be called ladyboy Hulk, or pre-op Hulk?

It's the little things like this that Hollywood always seems to miss.

The New Links Format, Links

The Avengers Assembled out of everyday stuff. Target has some pretty swank print ads with the Avengers made up of toys and other crap they sell. In related news I hear the early reviews for The Avengers are out of this world (97 percent fresh on rotten tomatoes I believe). In less related news my wife says we have to wait until Sunday to see it opening weekend. In even less related news I might just call in sick to work May 4th and go see it without her.

10 shows cancelled after just one episode. I can't believe the Sklar brothers had a webclip comedy show like 10 years before tosh.o. Chopper 4! Chopper 4!

Your best/worst look at Before Watchmen. Before Watchmen is like Roe v Wade for nerds. Either it's the worst thing ever and DC is raping everyone's memories or Alan Moore is a big hairy idiot that needs to shut his trap and oh my god it's Nite Owl drawn by Darwyn Cooke! Personally, I couldn't care less. Watchmen was like 30 years ago. Call me when Marvel announces Before Spider-Man the Clone Saga.

Everything you need to know about Earth's Mightiest Heroes. ComicsAlliance has a really nice primer on all the movie Avengers. It's a good read, they take pot shots and Hawkeye and mention Thor Frog.

The one where Black Widow beats up some chumps

Riddle me this, you have a super spy tied to a chair, why would you let her talk on her phone? I mean they have GPS in phones these days. Didn't they see the Dark Knight?

Amateurs...

BTW, wasn't this exact scene in the first Charles Angels movie?

Amateurs...

The Young Avengers.. brought to you by Target

This Target commercial featuring a bunch of kids playing Avengers is pretty cool. I'm especially impressed at how good the Hulk looks. I think he looks better here than he did in the Ang Lee directed Hulk. Remember how disappointing that movie was? Yeeesh.

Still, 7-11 had some great Hulk slurpee cups, so I guess it wasn't all bad.

Stop the internet! There's a new Avengers Trailer

My work computer doesn't have any sound. But I think it's safe to assume There's some dramatic music a few pew pews and someone saying Avengers Assemble. It looks really awesome.

BTW, Jeremy Renner is like 5'6", I already hate him as Hawkeye.

New Avengers Trailer.. sort of

Ok, so technically while this fan made trailer is new, it doesn't actually container any new footage. It's just made from all the existing footage out there plus clips from Iron Man 2, Captain America, Thor and The Incredible Hulk. It's really really good, way better than the trailer Marvel put out during the Super Bowl.

The Avengers Super Bowl Trailer

If you're anything like me when the new Avengers commercial aired during the Super Bowl, you couldn't hear it because of all the talking adults and screaming kids. Also if you're anything like me you have awesome hair, congrats.

Here's that Avengers commercial again, for the both of us.
