So while I was on vacation last week (I miss you most rum and coke), FX announced that they would be making a show based on Brian Michael Bendis' comic series Powers. On paper this deal looks fantastic. Love Bendis or hate him, Powers is a pretty solid comic and FX has been making some really good dramas for quite some time (including the hands down best show on TV, Justified). It's not like we're dealing with a heroes retread or a Wonder Woman slumber party. Of course the usual crew of nerd blogs reported on this, but the story didn't really blow up until yesterday when it was learned that BSG vet Katee Sackhoff really wants the lead role of Deena Pilgrim. And unlike most things you see on the internet, this might be true.
I'll go out on a huge nerdy limb here and say that this sounds like a no brainer. If FX didn't hire her they'd be idiots. Now if we can just get NBC to cancel Chuck so Adam Baldwin can play Christian Walker we'd be set.
