Whenever I'm having a conversation with myself in the shower about Image comics, I like to use the analogy that Image is to comics what the Tucker was to the automobile industry. They didn't invent the idea of independent publishing and creator owned properties in comic books but they were the first to really succeed at it on a broad scale and challenge the status quo established by DC and Marvel.
