New Bioshock Infinite trailer

The last Bioshock Infinite trailer was rather intriguing. It didn't really look like it belonged in the Bioshock universe, and while it was eye catching it didn't give any insight on the plot of the game. This new one that premiered at E3 shows off a lot of gameplay but it still doesn't look like it takes place in even the same Universe as the previous Bioshock games. And I say this as someone who has owned Bioshock for at least 2 years but has never played it. Basically what I'm saying is, I'm the Walter Cronkite of video game blogging.

You got Batman in my COD

A week or two ago I linked to some info on the upcoming Gotham City Imposters, an online FPS set in Gotham. At the time there wasn't much info on the game other than FPS and Batman which seems odd considering Batman A. doesn't carry a gun and B. won't kill people. A trailer was released at E3 yesterday and it looks kind cool. Basically the plot of the game is everyone in Gotham loses it and starts shooting each other, all while dressed up as two-bit Batmen and Jokers.

Am I wrong or does it have sort of a zany Team Fortress 2 kinda vibe to it? This might be a nice alternative to Call of Duty 5: The quest for more money.

Hello Halo 4 Trailer

Oh yeah at E3 today they announced Halo 4, the first in a new Halo Trilogy. I really liked Reach's first player storyline but I hated the new multiplayer. It's like they removed everything that made the game unique compared to other first person shooters (looking at you COD) and added some new X-box live Avatar like BS. Who cares if you can change what your armor looks like. We're living in a black ops world, you need to be able to customize what your armor does. That's what the kids want these days. That and pogs.

Well, F-You too DC

The moment I heard about the DC universe reboot I was fearful for the 2 DC books I read. I believe my exact words were
I only pick up 2 DC books on a monthly basis (Batgirl and Birds of Prey) and odds are this isn't going to change either book that dramatically.

Ok you caught me, I wasn't fearful at all but I should have been. This morning DC announce details on the new Batbooks and they revealed that Barbra Gordon is going to be Batgirl again.

If you don't read comics but still are reading this let me key you in onto why I'm pissed.

About 25 years ago (real life time, not comics time) the Joker shot Barbra Gordon (Commissioner Gordon's daughter and then Batgirl) in the spine, paralyzing her for life. Not one to let a little thing like that get her down she became Oracle, a sort of super computer hacking crime fighter who is constantly giving the superheroes of Gotham support and intel. She then gathered her own group of female crime fighters together to form the Birds of Prey. Think Charlies Angels but with less T&A (unless Ed Benes is drawing it) and more bad-assery.

Barbra Gordon is way more important to the DC Universe as Oracle than she ever was as Batgirl. As Batgirl she was just another spunky sidekick, but as Oracle she's a female/handicapable roll model that doesn't feel like an after school special crammed into a comic book. But I guess that's no match for having cute red hair, something the last two Batgirls have sorely missed.

As long as I'm ranting let me take 2 seconds to tell you how current Batgirl Stephanie Brown kicks ass. Stephanie Brown kicks ass.

BTW, here's the first cover of the new Birds of Prey (yawn). If the blonde girl really is Black Canary I think this totally confirms the new "ladies must wear pants" mandate from DC editorial.

again... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It's Avenger Time

E3 is sort of an interesting week for a net nerd like myself. For the last month or so it's felt like every blog and website has been building up to this epic event. Every "news article" is a rumor that will be addressed at E3. Then when it finally comes around, you're just bombarded with small detail after small detail. UFC on X-Box Live! Mass Effect 3 will work with Kinect! They're remaking Halo 1 in HD! It's so overwhelming you miss the news you were actually interested in before the show. Even worse is that none of these tidbits are really fleshed out, it's all "release date coming soon" or "more details to follow". By the end of the week you actually feel like you know less.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm DVRing about 6 hours of E3 coverage on G4 today. Why? Because I'm all caught up on 90210 reruns on soapnet.

Oh yeah here's some really weird Avengers cartoon from the Cartoon Network. enjoy

Michael Bay is 12, Megan Fox a delicate flower, so says LaBeef

Everyday hero Shia LaBeef had a recent interview with someone about something and wouldn't you know it the topic of Megan Fox came up. More specifically what the heck went down between her and Michael Bay that ended with her "quiting" the Transformers franchise.
Megan developed this Spice Girl strength, this woman-empowerment [stuff] that made her feel awkward about her involvement with Michael, who some people think is a very lascivious filmmaker, the way he films women," LaBeouf told the Los Angeles Times. "Mike films women in a way that appeals to a 16-year-old sexuality. It's summer. It's Michael's style. And I think [Fox] never got comfortable with it. This is a girl who was taken from complete obscurity and placed in a sex-driven role in front of the whole world and told she was the sexiest woman in America. And she had a hard time accepting it. When Mike would ask her to do specific things, there was no time for fluffy talk. We're on the run. And the one thing Mike lacks is tact. There's no time for [LaBeouf assumes a gentle voice] 'I would like you to just arch your back 70 degrees.'

All that I could think about after reading this was Michael Bay on the set of TF2 yelling at Megan Fox "stick your tits out more! no not like that, like this! Would someone just get me a Victoria's Secret model?!"

Seriously, Michael Bay is the worst. Anyway, here's a new trailer for The Dark of the Moon. If you squint really hard I think you can see Lazerbeak.

Darth Vader is going to Disneyland

Disney put together a little viral video to announce the opening of Star Tours. Frankly, I'm totally surprised this short is as good as it is considering it was made by the same people that thought a head banging Chewbacca was a good idea.

Also, a trip to Disney land with no lines? That's just about as preposterous as the virgin/midichlorian birth.

Code Names are Hard

I stopped posting new clips from X-Men: First Class about 3 weeks ago. I swear Fox was releasing new clips every day, it got ridiculous and made me sort of suspicious of the films quality. However, the movie hits theaters this weekend and right now I don't have anything else to blog about so here's a clip of the team picking code names.

I still haven't seen Thor and other than Kevin Bacon's ascot and some cool set design pictures I haven't seen anything from First Class that makes me think I NEED to see it right away. Besides I just got Black Swan via netflix and Mila Kunis lesbian scene > January Jones' cleavage.
