Every day in December (work schedule permitting) I plan on posting one thing from my official DevilDinosaur Christmas Wish List (patent pending). Why? Because I can.
Happy Holidays to everyone! I probably won't be posting a lot between now and new years. I have the week off so I'll be at home hanging out with the kids building Lego and playing with DC Superhero girls. I might post one or two things if I have the time and they're easy. We'll see.

I can't believe it but I actually saw Rogue opening week (the Rogue post was down a few so I'm replying here). The beauty of Bonner Mall Cinema (capacity 120) is the place was only 1/3 full.
As for Rogue I thought it was waaaay better than Force Awakens (remember afterwards when I said time would not be kind to it?). I read a comment somewhere- Force Awakens was the movie we wanted, Rogue was the movie we needed, and I agree. Force Awakens felt contrived and rehashed whereas Rogue was both new and fresh yet added to the story line and didn't dirty anything.
I did think the first act was a bit slow and I was kinda lost as to how everything fit but halfway through the big realization came that their entire role was to supply one bit of strategic information and they were most likely sacrificial. They were mission successful but not victorious, a nice change.
It also set up a great formula for more films in seeing other pieces of the galaxy and how things were shaped while supporting the original story line. Force Awakens will have to revisit all of its characters while Rogue is complete and a the next film can start a whole other chapter from scratch.
Unlike Force Awakens I wanted to see Rogue again, and I almost went back the next day but got Thai food instead and missed it (the theater closes at 9pm).
