In news that makes you feel old, the Goonies (which doesn't need to be said, but is the awesomest 80s movie of all time) celebrates its 25th anniversary today. In celebration here's the infamous octopus scene. The Octopus scene is somewhat of a movie legend in that people swear they saw it in the theaters. What really happened is that the scene never made it into theaters or VHS but when the movie was first shown on network TV it was added to help round out the films length. It was then taken back out of the movie in an edit that was meant for syndication. Leaving a lot of 80s babies confused, some remember the scnene but up until the DVD release in 2001 no one had any proof of it. Something similar happened with two other movies I can think of, Aliens and Star Trek II. And that concludes your "more you know" nerd moment for the day.

I have been accused of being crazy for many years because I insist that Aliens has a scene in which mounted, motion sensing cannons defend the hallway to the main entrance of the lab from said Aliens. Hopefully thanks to your blog I am vindicated to the masses/ nine people who read you blog.
