Hey, Another Cosplay Documentary

Respect Films has thrown their hat into the ring, the cosplay ring. That makes zero sense... I don't know it's another 3 minute documentary teaser on Cosplay and why people Cosplay. It seems like one of these comes out every month. I'm only posting this one because A. I don't have anything else to post and B. It looks like some of it takes place at ECCC. Yeah ECCC!

Did you hear that Emerald City Comicon is going to be 4 days next year? 4 days, that's kind of ridiculous. This last year by day 3 I was tired and completely burned out. I don't know if I can handle 4 days. Maybe I should train for it like people do with Tough Mudder. I can see it now "Kevin, have you been working out?"

Lego First Person Shooter

This fake game footage is sadly fake. Like super sadly.

I'd pay good money to play a Lego Portal or Lego Skyrim but I'd probably wait for a Steam sale to pick up Lego Bioshock. I'll probably pass on Lego Counterstrike. That game is way to hard.

Explaining the FIFA corruption arrests. I'm sure you've already seen the news this morning but if you have any questions regarding the FIFA arrests this is as good as any place to start. I'm amazed we actually got to this point, I mean I'm not amazed that FIFA is this corrupt everyone knew that. The amazing part is that finally someone has done something about it.

The 5 Best Book Characters That Game of Thrones Has Left Out. This is a pretty good list, Stong Belwas is the obvious number one but Coldhands and Patchface are nice inclusions too. Man, sucks thinking that we'll never learn more about Patchface. Him and Hodor seem like characters that have these big important secrets but they'll probably never amount to anything. Why answer the unanswered when you can write 30 chapters of Tyrion farting around the Free Cities.

The Witcher 3 Downgrade Controversy Sucks. Yes it does suck. There's two big things going on with The Witcher 3. The final product doesn't look like all the trailers the nerds have been salivating over AND it seems to have been nerfed on the PC. I'm afraid this is going to become more and more of a trend. Developers are trying to cast the widest net not make he prettiest games. That means developing for consoles first and PCs second. It also means protecting console sales. Until consoles are a minority share of the gaming market that's just how it's going to be.

Muy Thai Champion Germaine Yeap went to a gym pretending to be a nerdy girl who couldn't throw a punch. Actually to be more specific the owner of the gym brought her in specifically to prank his new Muy Thai trainers. It's not like she just goes around duping poor unsuspecting bros at the gym. Then again maybe she does. I don't know anything about Muy Thai.

Look, they're rebooting Doom again. This 10 second teaser from E3 shows off a whopping 2 seconds of gameplay. I could see myself sitting down and playing a new version of Doom. I mean I could see myself completely ignoring it too. I don't know anymore. I'm just waiting for No Man's Sky to come out already.

Microsoft Punishes Gears of War Leakers. Welp here's something that's a bit scary. A few guys that were testing early betas of the new Gears of War leaked some video onto the webs. Microsoft in turn suspended their Xbox Live accounts AND bricked their Xbox Ones. Now, they signed a big old non disclosure agreement thing so they were very much in the wrong but I would suspect no one really thought Big Redmond would go around nerfing Xbones anytime someone broke the UELA.

McDonalds has been making a lot of hay lately with it's rebooting of the Hamburglar. It's weird and stupid and feels kind of like Poochie but it's also weird and stupid in a great way. Supergirl - First Look

Have we talked about how CBS ordered a Supergirl TV show for fall 2015? Well they did and here's a 6 minute sneak peak. I haven't really watched it yet. My son got a bunch of new Skylanders the other day so I've been playing that a lot. I mean it's Supergirl, I don't really care that much.

Internet reaction has been mixed. Some people have complimented it on it's cheerful tone and other have said it looks just like the Black Widow parody SNL did a couple weeks ago (ouch). I just can't believe how many superhero shows there are on TV now. Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, Gotham, Daredevil over on Netflix and the announced Teen Titans show on TNT. We're pretty far removed from the days of made for cable movies of David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury.

Last weekend a rather boorish Toronto FC fan decided it would be cute to get on the air with the old "F-her right in the pussy" meme. Well this reporter was having none of it, she stops everything and publicly shames the douche right there. Also he got fired from his job.

The Air Force has been putting out these promotional videos showing off some of their swag. In this video Members of the 25th Fighter Squadron demonstrate what Close Air Support is all about, from the seat of an A-10C. It's not the kind of thing I usually post here but the A-10 as the Cobra Rattler was one of my favorite GI Joe toys so the judges will allow it.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the 16-bit trailer

These days you can't release a highly anticipated trailer without having someone redo it in Lego or as a 16-bit video game, so here's one for The Force Awakens. I've been playing the Super Star Wars games on the SNES a lot lately (Ok, I've been playing pirated ROMS on my RetroPie but that's like the same thing). Do you have any idea how hard those games are? Man, gamers today are soft and weak-bellied. If you can't save in the middle of a level people freak out, imagine having NO saves and only three lives. Have fun beating Call of Duty now.

Joss Whedon Has Deleted His Twitter Account After the Domestic Debut of Age of Ultron. I just don't get people sometimes. It would seem that this all stems from some fan's reaction to how Black Widow was portrayed in Age of Ultron. People were upset and instead of say, going on twitter and telling their followers what they thought of the movie they just started swearing at and threatening Whedon. It's like the opposite of Gamer Gate but just as depressing.

Hey it's Star Wars day. You know, because May the 4th ARGGGHHH that's so stupid. Even my son was like, Dad there's no Star Wars day. Whatever today is, here's a big old Lego Star Destroyer smashing into the ground in slow motion. It's really cool.

It's the Suicide Squad... I guess.

Yesterday the director of the upcoming Suicide Squad movie tweeted a picture of the cast in costume. It didn't quite blow up like the picture of Jared Leto as the Joker but it got around pretty quickly.

I'll be the first to admit, I don't know much about the Suicide Squad. I know the premise of the book and I know the main characters but outside of the New52 I've never read any of the comics. Given all that knowledge I was able to recognize just three characters in the team photo. Harley Quinn, Deadshot and Katana. Once I was told Captain Boomerang and Killer Croc were also on the team I was kind of able to figure out who they were. After that it's like, guy with gun, other guy with gun, guy without gun. You know all the popular villains.

Don't let my ignorance fool you though. I'm still pretty excited for this movie WAY more excited than I am for Superman v Batman. If you're going to insist on making all your comic book movies hella dark and violent I'd rather see more movies about villains that Superman.

Avengers: Age of Ultron, the review

Thanks to Audi and some people I know who bought an Audi recently, I got to see a sneak preview of The Avengers: Age of Ultron last night... although I'm not sure how much of a sneak preview it was considering it was playing at the Cinerama like 4 hours later. I'll save you spoilers and keep this short. It was really good. Maybe not as good as the Bacon Cheese Burger I got at Five Guys before we saw it, but still really good. There were some minor parts that I didn't like and I thought some of the action sequences were a bit too similar to the first one but overall you definitely get your money's worth. Two thumbs way up.
