God Hates Bi-Mon Sci-Fi Con

The fine folks at Westboro Baptist Church have announce plans to protest at this years San Diego Comic-Con. If you're not familiar with Westboro it isn't so much of a church as it is a cult. Most of the members are all part of the same large family and it seems their entire witness is a combo of end of the world style crazy and straight up racism and bigotry. Anyhoo here's part of their press release (btw, my momma always told me to be wary of any church that issues press releases).

"Comic Con is an excuse for whores to wear skimpy get-ups (as if they don't already) without censure & for emulating rebels to compare costumes."

Ok forget it, I'm stopping right here. Say what you will about hero worship, Idolatry and the moral decay of today's youth. You stay away from the Cosplayers Westboro!

The Walking Dead zombies its way to your television

Here's the first picture of all the main characters from the Walking Dead TV show. I figure at the very least this should be interesting to the 3 people who are borrowing my copies of the comic.

The picture looks cool and all, it just kinda makes me sad knowing the hellish fate that awaits most of these characters. Whoops, was that a Spoiler? Cause the series came out like 7 years ago, and knowing that a bunch of people bite it doesn't seem like it should be a spoiler.

Star Wars on a subway? Sure why not?

This video is spreading like herpes all over the interwebs today. It's a cute little piece of improv by improveverywhere. I like it and all but I think it could've been better if they had used the Burlesque Stormtroopers and then improved some sort of pole dance.

The Fast and the Furious just got The People's Elbow

Jordana Brewster hiding under a car is related enough, trust me
Tyrse Gibson reported on his twitter that the Rock has signed on to be in the next Fast and the Furious movie, which I assume will be called Fast and Furiouser. Maybe 5ast and 5urious, either way I'm cool.

Equally shocking to the casting of The Rock is that Tyrese claims he's going to be in the movie too. Assumably he'll be reprising his role of Roman Pierce from 2 Fast 2 Furious. No word as of yet who will be driving the car when they land it on a boat, again.

The X-Men cook up some Bacon*

So it's been reported on the interwebs that Kevin Bacon is in talks to play the big baddie in the next X-Men movie. This makes as much sense as any other news that's come out of this movie. First it's a prequel, then it's a reboot, then it's neither, now it's starting Kevin Bacon. Why not?

Lets fire up the old speculatron and try and figure out what bastardized version of an X-Men villain he'll play. Now keep in mind that Magneto has already been cast and I guess isn't a villain but a good guy, so that helps narrow the field.

Trevor FitzroyWith the Green hair and super future armour, Trevor Fitzroy is very 1980s-tastic. Still an X-Men from the future sent back as a villain could be a very interesting plot. In fact it's probably to high-brow of a concept for Fox.


The BroodCall me nuts but I can totally see Fox taking the concept of the brood (alien parasites that mutate their host) and shoehorning it into a Kevin Bacon sized package.


Mesmero
Mesmero was a pretty decent X-men Villain in the 70s and 80s. Basically his whole shtick is mind control. This only works when Xavier isn't around so we can probably rule him out consider Xavier is reportedly one of the leads in this movie.


ApocalypseThe only idea worse than shoehorning Apocalypse into a supposed X-Men origin movie, would be having Kevin Bacon play him. If I had to bet money on it, I'd bet everything I own this is what they'll do.


Black QueenThis post needed some T&A.


Sebastian ShawSebastian Shaw seems like he'd be the most logical choice. He leads the Hellfire club and in turn the Hellions who are sort of the "evil" teen x-men. If you wanted to play out the same themes as the first X-Men movie without the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants the Hellfire club would be the way to go.


Black Tom Cassidy Better known as the guy that bosses the Juggernaut around all the time, Black Tom would be an awful idea. He does have a sweet ass beard, but his power revolves around a magic cane. That's just not cool.


Mastermind Mastermind is a character so awful I could only find a picture of his toy. Still this is the studio that gave us a Mute Deadpool so pretty much any horrible idea is on the table.
