X-Men First Class Theater presents: It's go time

Another X-Men: First Class Trailer

You know how Warner Brothers released a Green Lantern trailer but everyone thought it was kind of stupid. Then like 3 months later they released a new trailer with all kinds of crazy new footage and everyone thought it was awesome? Well Fox is doing the exact opposite of that. This is like the 4th new trailer for X-Men: First class in about a week and each new trailer has roughly 2 and a half seconds of unseen footage.

This trailer has a little bit of unseen footage of Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw. I'm super pumped to see Bacon's take on Shaw if for no other reason than there needs to be more bad guys in movies named Sebastian. Seriously, who names their kid that and then doesn't expect them to be evil. Sebastian... I can't even type it without adding ominous looking extra periods.

More X-Men first class pictures

Yeah I know, these were released last week. The thing is last week I was on a freakin role, so I decided I'd stash these in my back pocket for a day when literally nothing happened except Charlie Sheen news. So who's the big winner now?

oh btw, that picture above is awesome. I'd like to live in it. Maybe not forever but at least for a couple weeks.

The X-Men cook up some Bacon*

So it's been reported on the interwebs that Kevin Bacon is in talks to play the big baddie in the next X-Men movie. This makes as much sense as any other news that's come out of this movie. First it's a prequel, then it's a reboot, then it's neither, now it's starting Kevin Bacon. Why not?

Lets fire up the old speculatron and try and figure out what bastardized version of an X-Men villain he'll play. Now keep in mind that Magneto has already been cast and I guess isn't a villain but a good guy, so that helps narrow the field.

Trevor FitzroyWith the Green hair and super future armour, Trevor Fitzroy is very 1980s-tastic. Still an X-Men from the future sent back as a villain could be a very interesting plot. In fact it's probably to high-brow of a concept for Fox.


The BroodCall me nuts but I can totally see Fox taking the concept of the brood (alien parasites that mutate their host) and shoehorning it into a Kevin Bacon sized package.


Mesmero
Mesmero was a pretty decent X-men Villain in the 70s and 80s. Basically his whole shtick is mind control. This only works when Xavier isn't around so we can probably rule him out consider Xavier is reportedly one of the leads in this movie.


ApocalypseThe only idea worse than shoehorning Apocalypse into a supposed X-Men origin movie, would be having Kevin Bacon play him. If I had to bet money on it, I'd bet everything I own this is what they'll do.


Black QueenThis post needed some T&A.


Sebastian ShawSebastian Shaw seems like he'd be the most logical choice. He leads the Hellfire club and in turn the Hellions who are sort of the "evil" teen x-men. If you wanted to play out the same themes as the first X-Men movie without the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants the Hellfire club would be the way to go.


Black Tom Cassidy Better known as the guy that bosses the Juggernaut around all the time, Black Tom would be an awful idea. He does have a sweet ass beard, but his power revolves around a magic cane. That's just not cool.


Mastermind Mastermind is a character so awful I could only find a picture of his toy. Still this is the studio that gave us a Mute Deadpool so pretty much any horrible idea is on the table.
