Personally I don't hate the show, in fact I kind of like it (GASP!). I'm sure in someone's eyes that makes me a bad nerd or a fake nerd or some sort of self loathing nerd but whatevers, I don't have time for your labels man. I have a literal closet full of comics and for reals named my son Logan because Wolverine is my second favorite comic book character and my wife wouldn't let me name our kid Peter.
I couldn't tell you why I like the show, maybe it's because I'm from a generation that would literally sit through 20 minutes of the Electric Company just to get a 30 second glimpse of a guy in a super shitty Spider-Man costume. Maybe I'm just sliding into CBS s target demo, whatever the reason it doesn't really matter. I've never felt the characters (or big ol' Nerds) were made out for ridicule anymore than any other sitcom character ever has been. There's two types of characters in a sitcom, ridiculous over the top caricatures and straight men. Do you think doctors get offended over how they're portrayed in Scrubs? I guess the point I'm making is that I've never been offended by the show. At least not until last weeks episode.
If you've already watched the trailer above, or if you saw the episode, you'll know that the plot had all the girls going where no girls have gone before: The Comic Book Shop. The way it's edited, the trailer is more offensive than the actual episode was. In the episode the guy that runs the shop was helpful and actually gave great advice to the girls looking for comics (although to stay current he should have recommended Saga over Fables). The really offensive part was how the customers in the shop were portrayed and how later in the episode the comics (superhero books in particular) were dismissed as immature and childish. Seriously F-U CBS. There are girls in the shop I go to all the time and superhero comics are rad. You know what's stupid? 2 Broke Girls, that show sucks and is racist as hell.
