Surviving the Death Race

This is a pretty amazing story by the New York Times on the so-called 24hr death race held in Pittsfield, Vermont. I say so-called because as grueling as it looks, I didn't see any bodies. Still it looks like a pretty manly way to spend a weekend.

I'd like to try it some year but Vermont is pretty far away, so I'm thinking of making my own Death Race in the backyard. I've already got a Home Depot bucket, a shovel and some legos, so I figure I'm halfway there.
