Jackman will Box that Robot
So maybe it's because I was up at 5am this morning watching Robot Holocaust but the summary of Hugh Jackman's newest movie blew my mind.
Real Steel" follows Hugh Jackman's character, a fighter, who is suddenly without a job when robots take over the boxing industry. He decides to reinvent himself by becoming the promoter and trainer of one robot boxer.

That's right Robot Boxing. This and single payer health care are what I'm looking forward to most in 2010. ..what?

In an odd series of events I was flooded with new X-box games this Christmas most of which I haven't even had the chance to play. I'm 99 percent sure If I were to buy the new Mass Effect when it comes out next week I'd end up sleeping on the couch... of course that would give me ample time to play all those games...

George Lucas wants more of your money, this time in 3-d

George Lucas isn't stupid, he sees James Cameron pushing around wheelbarrows filled with Avatar cash. That's why he's going back to the well for like a 9th time by re-releasing Star Wars, again, this time in 3-D.
George was so impressed with the movie’s technology – which took home the trophy for Best Motion Picture – Drama at the 2010 Globes – that he thinks it could help pave the way for creating 3-D versions of his “Star Wars” movies. “We’ve been looking for years and years and years of trying to take ‘Star Wars’ and put it in 3-D,” George explained to Access. “But, [the] technology hasn’t been there. We’ve been struggling with it, but I think this will be a new impetus to make that happen.”

Good gravy, for some perverse reason Leno invited Jimmy Kimmel on his show last night. Kimmel pretty much tore Leno to shreds on his own show. It's so brutal I had a hard time watching it... the 4th time I watched it.

One of the charities I support on a monthly basis is Beyond Borders. They're an organization founded by Tony Campolo and their mission is to assist the poor in Haiti with literacy programs, crisis support and education reform. Every year for Christmas I get this beautiful hand made Christmas card made out of wood and banana bark. It sounds really silly but it's one of those small things that I really look forward to every Christmas.
So in the Christmas spirit and on behalf of the kid that makes my favorite card every year, get bent Pat Robertson.

So Comics Alliance is reporting that Spider-man 4 is pretty much dead. After falling out with director Sam Raimi, Sony has decided to reboot the whole franchise for a 2012 release. The new movie suposedably will deal with Spidey back in high school, kinda like Ultimate Spider Man. Which coincidentaly was heavily influenced by the first Spider-Man movie. There's a fun circle for ya.
After Emo-Spider-Man does anyone really care? Spider-Man 3 was awful, and I think we all a bit better off with Sam Raimi doing more movies like Drag Me to Hell.

It's the Bad Guy, Razor Ramon! Thank you kissingsuzykolber, this was killing me. Steve Breaston's tribute to Razor Ramon was the awesomest thing since Levon Kirkland and Anthony Simmons used Booker T's "5 time, 5 time wold champion" celebration.

When people talk about NBC you have to remember two things. First they are the network that brought us Seinfeld and stuck with it after really lackluster ratings its first season. Of course, they're also the network that gave us Caroline in the City for a godawful 5 seasons. So why wouldn't they be the ones to finally replace Jay Leno with Conan O'Brien only to replace Conan O'Brien with Jay Leno.
There's rumor that Conan will leave NBC over this whole fiasco. The most likely destination would be Fox but when Conan first made the jump to the Tonight Show there were crazy rumors that CBS and ABC were interested in Jay Leno so I don't think you can count out any network or anything. I wouldn't rule out one of the cable networks either. If he does leave NBC lets hope he takes Pimpbot and the Masturbating Bear with him. The guy with bulletproof legs can stay with Leno.

Avatar is so good you'll want to kill yourself
Well clearly that headline is hyperbole you say? Ah good friend I wish it was.
Ever since i went to see Avatar i have been depressed. Watching the wonderful world of Pandora and all the Na'vi made me want to be one of them. I cant stop thinking about all the things that happened in the film and all of the tears and shivers i got from it. I even contemplate suicide thinking that if i do it i will be re birthed in a world similar to Pandora and the everything is the same as in Avatar.. I cant find joy in this world since Ive seen it, and the only thing that makes me happy is thinking about it or when im seeing it next, which is Saturday at the imax.. I doubt anyone will understand the feelings I'm having..but if you are..tell me..
~ mike
Now either Mike is black belt level forum troll or he's the saddest nerd ever. My heart wants to say troll but over at Film Drunk they've found several similar forum posts by avatar maniacs.
I was thinking of trying to go see Avatar this weekend but maybe I'll stay home and read a book. I have the new Clive Cussler novel and his books rarely make me suicidal.
That Eagle is the size of a Lion!
So Puma has unveiled the dreaded "universal 3rd kit" for all the African teams headed to the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup this summer. It might be hard to tell from the size of the picture, but the kits are supposed to look dirty. No word on if they're supposed to look painted on.
Look for these kits on sale for 29.99 in the back of Eurosport catalogs everywhere this fall.
