Nintendo 64 Rap! Back To The 90's!

I'm so far behind on posts for the month it's silly. I don't know what happened. Usually I fall behind when I go on vacation but I think I took all of one day off this month. Maybe it's because I haven't been feeling good. Yesterday I slept for 10 hours and still woke up exhausted. I think I have Sars. Basically what I'm getting at is HERE COME THE UNVETTED YOUTUBE VIDEOS.

I haven't actually listened to this yet, It's probably corny as hell. When it comes to white people rapping about Nintendo games my standards are INCREDIBLY HIGH. Still it gives me a second to complain about how expensive old games are. I remember when you could go to a video game store and buy used NES cartridges for one or two bucks. You know how much the average SNES cart goes for these days? $19.99. I bought Bayonetta 2 on the WiiU for less than that just a week ago. The secondary market for old games has gotten out of control. Heaven forbid you're looking for something cool like Super Metroid or Conker's Bad Fur day. Be prepared to pay $40 my friend.

At this point its hard for me to feel too guilty for downloading a bunch of ROMS and building a RetroPie. Playing older games is a lot of fun but man that novelty wears off really quickly. I fired up WCW/NWO Revenge the other day and it was great, for like 20 minutes. Haven't played it since. No way I'm spending new game money on an old game I'll play once every 6 months.

Cosplay Kitchen: Street Fighter Cookies ft Chun Li

Here's Angie from The Screen Team dressed up as Chun-Li making some Strett Fighter cookies. Her husband Chad shows up dressed as Ryu and they pretend to fight. It's entertaining enough. I like this video for at least a couple reasons I'm just having a hard time grasping them right now.

I'm thinking of getting into cooking a bit more. I've written a bit about how I'm a big proponent of waffles from scratch and it got me thinking; I'll bet a lot of food tastes better from scratch. I got a new barbecue for Christmas, why not put it to work? Maybe it's time I start making my own rubs and stuff. That sounds like fun.

Why Loot Crate?

Hey kiddos, here's a video of the Screen Team unboxing last month's Loot Crate. Why? I don't know, why do I write about anything? Loot Crate has been popping up on my Facebook and Google ads a bunch so I thought it was high time I rambled on about it.

Loot Crate is a service that for a low monthly price delivers random geeky toys to you once a month. Prices vary depending on how long you sign up for but it's about $20 a month and they promise at least $40 worth of nonsense. I'm 100% completely on the fence over it. On one hand I like stupid geeky stuff like action figures and tribbles. On the other hand there's no way I would go to a store and actually pay for anything I saw in that box. Trips to my local comic book shop are kind of like that. Outside of comic books they have a big focus on toys and figures. A lot of them are really cool, but as much as I like it I'm never paying $19.99 for a Funko dancing Groot.

I guess that's the appeal of the Loot Crate. Random crap you will kinda like but wouldn't purchase on your own. It's the Harry and David basket for nerds.

Talk Nerdy To Me by The Screen Team

This parody of Talk Dirty To Me is more than a little silly but I don't care. I have about 40 minutes left on my birthday and I'm all out of rainbow sherbert.

Top 10 Games of this Generation

The Screen Team (as featured on this blog before) have asked their viewers for a list of the top 10 games of this generation. GammaSquad did something similar a couple weeks ago but they drew it out over like 5 different slideshows and featured far less cleavage, so I'm going with this one.

It's a pretty respectable list. A couple of the Wii and PS3 games I haven't played so I can't comment on just how baller Super Smash Bros: Brawl really is. I had zero intent of doing this but off the top of my head these are the best games I remember playing on the 360 (and the few times I got my hands on a Wii or a PS3):

Red Dead Redemption
Bioshock
Battlefield 3
Mass Effect
Skyrim
Arkham City
Uncharted 2
Halo 3
XCom Enemy Unknown
COD: Black Ops

I know putting a Call of Duty game on here blows away any "hardcore" gamer cred I never had but as a reminder I've been in baby land most of the year and haven't really had a chance to get my hands on some of the bigger titles from 2013 like GTA V or The Last of Us. Also COD: Black Ops was dope, so get off my back.
