Is an ESPN columnist Scamming People on the internet?
Short answer Yes. Long answer Yes, she's been fired and deadspin already posted a follow up. Plus the guy that runs Nilson Report was scammed by her too.
Normally this is the sort of story I'd just bury in one of my links posts but I thought it was so interesting I wanted it to get it's own love. Maybe it's because in a round about way it hits close to home. You spend enough time on the internet and you run into all types. I've sold stuff to people that haven't paid, I've been contacted by "NBC lawyers" and have had several people inquire about integrating my website into their network of Nigerian princes.
The deadspin story is just a great reminder why I don't really try with this website. The fact that there are people paying for twitter accounts and stealing peoples facebook accounts is as good of reason as any to stay out of the world of blogging for money.
