STEEP, Gameplay Trailer

Here's the gameplay trailer for that game B was talking about yesterday. What you weren't at my house for my Summer Slam party? Well shame on you then.

I think this game looks really cool but I'm afraid the focus might be on the paragliding and wingsuit jumping. Some of the snowboarding/skiing gameplay doesn't look incredibly smooth. The official release date for this is 12/2 and it's available across all platforms. If the reviews are solid I'll definitely check it out. My snowboarding itch hasn't been scratched since SSX tricky. I'm not 100% sure this will be the game to dethrone Overwatch in my one game rotation but I could see myself sitting down and playing it for at least a few minutes.

Snow: Trick Montage

In the list of video game genres that seem to be on their way out, extreme sports has to be near the top of the list.. somewhere below fake guitar games but above 2-d fighters. This new game simply titled Snow, looks to buck the trend by stripping away all the craziness of SSX and gimicks of Tony Hawk and concentrating on recreating the real life skiing experience. I don't know, it looks pretty cool. I'm just not sure if the gameplay looks good enough to keep my attention for more than 10 minutes.

The release date is later this year but if you're lucky you can try to sign up for the trial on Steam right now.

This video was billed as "The Worst Ski Jump Ever" and it's kinda hard to dispute that. I'm sure people have gotten hurt worse at ski jumping, but the fact that this guy only makes it... well I don't want to ruin it. Enjoy!

Skiing/snowboarding PC game SNOW sounds terrific. I love snowboarding games, but there hasn't been a good (non SSX) once since what ESPN X-Games Snowboarding on the PC? The first Amped had a great game structure to it, but woof, it was terrible to play. I know they made a bunch of sequels but I'm pretty sure they were all terrible too. Shaun White? Again, terrible game mechanics. I seriously think snowboarding games might have peaked with 1080 on the N64. Anyhoo, this game SNOW sounds like it could be cool.
